Caring Pharmacy celebrated its 10,000-day anniversary by giving away 10,000 Boxes (or 500,000 pieces) of NEUTROVIS Premium Medical Face Mask to 10 organizations in the presence of Y.A.M. Tengku Datin Paduka Setia Zatashah, daughter of the Sultan of Selangor - Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, accompanied by the Asst. Commr. (CD) Abdul Wahab Bin Hj. Rahim, Director of Disaster Management and Operation Division, Malaysia Civil Defense Force (APM) of the Prime Minister’s Office. Also present in this auspicious occasion were VIP representatives of Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (Tourism Malaysia), Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA), ASEAN Retail-Chain & Franchise Federation (ARFF) and Kuala Lumpur Pavilion Sdn Bhd.
The 10,000 days signifies the 27 years that Caring Pharmacy has been established since September 1994, where it started off as a humble pharmacy located in Taman Muda, Cheras, founded by five pharmacist course-mates, to provide quality and affordable healthcare solutions to the rakyat. After a 27-year run, Caring Pharmacy has managed to expand to 158 outlets nationwide, establishing their presence in all major shopping malls. It doesn’t stop there; in this time, they have also bloomed through loyalty programs, launched their very own Caring mobile application, grew its acquisition of Georgetown Pharmacy and Wellings Pharmacy to 36 stores, and tapped on the international markets within Southeast Asia.
Y.A.M. Tengku Datin Paduka Setia Zatashah, said, “I am proud that an established Malaysian local brand like Caring Pharmacy is supporting our community in need. I would like to thank them for this generous contribution, every effort counts, and every action has an impact and together we can make a difference.”
As the country slowly recovers from the damages caused by the pandemic and natural disasters, homegrown brands - Caring Pharmacy and NEUTROVIS collaborate with 10 organizations to safeguard those who might not be privileged enough to own proper medical-grade face masks. These masks will be utilized by the officers and volunteers in their daily operations, and will also be distributed to the underprivileged, primarily the flood victims that have suffered immensely these past two months. In doing so, they hope to give everyone an equal fighting chance against COVID-19 and remind them to celebrate Chinese New Year responsibly, when reuniting with family and friends.
The 10 beneficiaries are as follows:
Asst. Commr. (CD) Abdul Wahab Bin Hj. Rahim, said, “I applaud Caring Pharmacy for keeping the welfare of the underprivileged in mind as they celebrate this incredible milestone, and NEUTROVIS as well for their extraordinary CSR works this past year. These homegrown brands truly embody the #KITASUPPORTKITA motive by taking the responsibility to take care of our fellow brothers and sisters of all races in Malaysia, whenever the need arises.”
Zayn Puah, Managing Director of Maystar Beauty, said, “I am privileged to be collaborating with Caring Pharmacy in this campaign, as it aligns both our interests to safeguard the Malaysian community and giving back to the society. Having done some CSR works myself, I know how rewarding it can be to do something for people who are in dire need of help. It makes us feel lighter when we sleep at night, knowing that we have done something good for the Malaysian community. As much as I am proud of Caring Pharmacy’s astounding success these 10,000 days, I wish to applaud them for celebrating it by giving back to the community and making an impact in many people’s lives, including myself. This is especially important during these trying times, and we need to stand by each other and help our fellow brothers and sisters in need.”
As the festive season of Chinese New Year approaches, popular local celebrities - Nadia Brian and Tong Bing Yu, participated in the celebration to use their influence to create greater awareness on the importance of wearing effective, medical-grade face masks to combat COVID-19, and remind the nation to keep their loved ones safe by always complying with the SOPs, as they welcome the year of the tiger. During the event, Nadia Brian and Tong Bing Yu were seen distributing NEUTROVIS Premium Medical Masks to the public at the main entrance of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
Chong Yeow Siang, Managing Director of Caring Pharmacy, said, “It brings me great pride to celebrate this significant event by giving back to society through these 10 acclaimed organizations. This marks a historic milestone for us, and it means so much to me and my team, to be able to aid the public in matters of health and wellness. Just as it is in our name, we truly care for all Malaysians - despite race or religion; and will continue to serve them by providing the most relevant healthcare solutions as the largest homegrown pharmacy retail chain throughout the pandemic and beyond.”
